Adopt a Garden
Since 1995, New York Restoration Project (NYRP) has served as the only conservancy for open spaces in New York City’s most densely populated, under-resourced and least green neighborhoods. We are driven by the conviction that all New Yorkers—no matter where they live—have the right to beautiful, high-quality public space.
We own and manage 52 community gardens in all five boroughs and have steadily restored more than half of them. To celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are raising $15 million to complete the design and construction of our remaining gardens. Only 15 are still available for adoption.
Join our campaign and help all New Yorkers enjoy the proven benefits of access to quality green space—including improved health, safety, community pride and civic engagement.
Adopt a garden and ensure its renewal and care. Gifts of any amount will help NYRP achieve this goal. Honor your family roots by transforming the neighborhood where you grew up, share your commitment to NYC or celebrate someone you love.
Donors who commit $250,000+ have the opportunity to receive name recognition for a garden appropriate to gift size. Donations of $100,000+ will receive special recognition at our 20th Anniversary Hulaween gala in 2015. Donations of $50,000+ will be recognized on our website and in our commemorative book honoring all campaign donors!
Exclusive naming rights remain for 20 years, after which you will have right of first refusal to continue, or NYRP may add an additional donor(s).
Your gift may be pledged and paid over a maximum period of five years. All gifts will be restricted to NYRP’s New York Garden Trust and the funds will be used to design, construct, and maintain NYRP gardens and to build the endowment for garden maintenance within our entire Trust portfolio.
NYRP estimates it will take a minimum of 2 years to fully design and build each garden. The design and renovation process will begin after payment has been received and at the discretion of NYRP.
