Willis Avenue Community Garden
The Bronx
378 Willis Ave.
Established in 1994 by the primarily Hispanic residents of this bustling neighborhood in the South Bronx, Members’ Garden is busiest in spring and summer. Much of the garden’s annual harvest is distributed to the garden’s community members and since acquiring the garden, NYRP has installed an ornamental fence, added picnic benches, built a rainwater harvesting system, and planted perennials, shade trees, and shrubs.
