Sponsor a Tree

Are you looking for a special way to pay tribute to a gardener or nature lover in your life?

A gift to New York Restoration Project in honor or memory of a loved one is a unique way to celebrate or commemorate someone special while helping to increase the city’s urban forest canopy.

Each contribution of $100 or more can support the planting of one tree in northern Manhattan’s Highbridge Park.

Gifts may be made in honor or memory of a cherished friend or family member and the honoree will be notified of your gracious donation with a personalized e-card.

Give a gift that keeps on growing!

Note: We plant trees in carefully planned restoration zones to promote forest health. While we cannot mark or map individual plantings, your tree is now part of the canopy taking root in Highbridge Park.

Reforestation plans for 2026 include planting sites along the western edge of Highbridge Park (near Amsterdam Avenue) and in North Highbridge Park (north of the Washington Bridge). Native reforestation species include red oak, tulip tree, bitternut hickory, basswood, sweetgum, American elm, sycamore, white pine, red maple, black oak, shagbark hickory, and hybrid American chestnut.
