A Signature NYRP Celebration
On Friday, October 23, New York Restoration Project hosted our annual Hulaween gala, raising critical funds to advance our mission of ensuring equitable access to green space across all five boroughs of New York City.
This year’s Hulaween on Horror Reef: Monsters of the Deep transformed The Glasshouse into an immersive underwater world, bringing together supporters for an unforgettable evening of music, philanthropy, and celebration. NYRP Trustees Sophie von Haselberg and Harry Guinness were honored with the Wind Beneath My Wings Award, presented by NYRP founder Bette Midler in recognition of their leadership and commitment to the organization.
Founded in 1996, Hulaween is one of New York City’s most anticipated annual Halloween events and a vital source of support for NYRP’s work restoring and reviving parks, community gardens, and public green spaces across the city.
The evening featured performances by Cyndi Lauper, Jessica Vosk, Sydney James Harcourt, and Will Lee and The Root System, with Mario Cantone serving as emcee. Isaac Mizrahi and Rachel Antonoff judged the iconic Costume Contest, and House of Yes and DJ Boyyyish kept the celebration going late into the night. The event’s distinguished co-chairs included Candice Bergen, Matthew Broderick, Danny DeVito, Jonah Hill, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kristen Wiig.
What Your Support Means to NYRP
Support for Hulaween directly advances NYRP’s mission to create a greener, more resilient New York City. As one of our signature fundraising events, Hulaween generates vital philanthropic support for the programs that transform and sustain green spaces across the five boroughs—from parks and community gardens to tree planting and neighborhood revitalization.
Every gift made through Hulaween helps power NYRP’s essential work in communities citywide. By investing in this special evening, supporters help expand access to nature, strengthen urban ecosystems, and create healthier, more connected neighborhoods where New Yorkers and nature can thrive together.
