Hull Street Community Garden

All NYRP community gardens hold a minimum of 20 open hours per week. Please check the bulletin board at the garden for times and details.

Opened in 2005, the Hull Street Playground is a favorite spot among neighborhood children, approximately three-quarters of the garden is devoted to play equipment donated by the non-profit KaBoom!

In a neighborhood that has very little access to parkland, the garden’s playscape is a magnet for activity and is used regularly by local schoolchildren, many of whom attend nearby P.S. 73, the Thomas Boyland School. Entering from the street, a wrought iron fence and gate protect the site and its visitors, as well as its welcoming planting beds of flowering perennials and a shade tree. The back of the garden is designed as a community gathering space, equipped with a barbecue grill, an arbor entwined with climbing vines and a garden shed.
