Water Quality Workshop at Sherman Creek Park

This event is being organized in partnership with the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.

Join New York Restoration Project for a free, hands-on water quality workshop led by Margie Turrin, Director of Educational Field Programs at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Learn estuary monitoring techniques you can use with students or on your own: salinity, turbidity, pH and dissolved oxygen testing, tide observation, fish traps, and seining. We start indoors in our community room (coffee and snacks provided) and move to the Harlem River shoreline for field sampling.
Free. Limited to 20 participants, first come, first served.
Designed for teachers and school staff, open to all.
