The Engagement & Programming team is introducing NYRP’s first city-wide virtual endeavor, GARDENISM: Pathways to Connection in the Garden. Featuring five (5) trending garden topics, we will explore engagement strategies to build stronger community in the gardens. This series is free and open to all New Yorkers. Each session will be led by a different member of the Engagement & Programming team and will take place Tuesday at 5:30pm throughout August and September. Please register for all the sessions you plan to attend.
This week’s session:
Methods of Traditional Farmers
Join us as we gather to honor the traditional methods of indigenous people, the legacy of farmers and the language of the earth as told by the full moon. NYRP facilitator Mel Giraldo will discuss why the September full moon is given its name, the maps and guidelines of the night sky, and the practices of land stewards for the autumnal equinox as we prepare for our largest harvest across the Western hemisphere.
