The Sweetness of Sorghum

This event is hosted in partnership with Deep Routes

With Sorghum season around the corner join Maya Marie and the NYRP Urban Ag team for an early harvest and to celebrate the stories and abundance of the towering Sorghum plant. Participants will have a chance to discuss the Afro-Indigenous migrations of this nutrient-dense grain & sweetener, collectively process the stalks, and learn how to prepare Sorghum at home.

This session is part 3 of 4 in The Soul of Food sequence, a hands-on Deep Routes workshop series honoring the foodways that connect plants, peoples, and lands across Afro-Indigenous diasporas.

NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL. Anyone who registers using the form below will automatically be added to a waitlist.
