Tree Giveaway: Travers Park

UPDATE: Advance registration is full for all spring tree giveaways, but walk-ups are still welcome. During the second hour of each event, trees will be available for walk-up recipients on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Please arrive near the start of the event to join the waitlist.

This event is in partnership with Council Member Shekar Krishnan.

Native tree species to be distributed at this location include:

• Black Cherry
• Flowering Dogwood
• Highbush Blueberry
• Pawpaw
• Sweet Birch
• Witchhazel

Please note that tree sizes vary. Be prepared to transport up to a two-gallon pot size.

For Community Gardens on NYC Parks Property: Garden groups must get prior written permission from GreenThumb to plant new trees, perform major pruning such as limb removals, or remove existing trees, even if damaged, diseased, or dead. NYC Parks has very strict laws governing tree removal on NYC Parks property. Fines can be significant for improper removals.
