Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Garden
Brooklyn
Bedford-Stuyvesant
Sponsored by Darcy Stacom
In 1985, this small-but-active garden was established by neighborhood residents, who decided to utilize the space to grow seasonal vegetables and herbs, including tomatoes, peppers, basil and parsley. In the fall of 2018, the garden underwent a full reconstruction supported by generous funding from NYRP Board Member Darcy Stacom, which included new fencing and pathways, a water supply and irrigation system, a shade structure with picnic tables, a seating area, a garden tool shed, 12 raised garden beds, compost bins, and numerous landscape plantings.
