Gil Hodges Community Garden
Brooklyn
Gowanus
Overseen by the Bridge Plaza Association of local residents, this garden has flourished since the 1970s and is a lovely patch of green welcoming those crossing the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn. Since its inception, several local groups have contributed to the maintenance of the garden, including students from P.S. 141K. Local residents continue to clean and green this lovely space, providing the surrounding community and city with a truly unique, natural oasis.
