Fall Fest, Bigger and Better Than Ever

On October 26, nearly 750 community members (a new attendance record!) came out to celebrate the season at Fall Fest in Sherman Creek park. There was no shortage of fun. Families, friends and neighbors planted seeds with the Washington Heights/Inwood Food Council, learned about bivalves from the Billion Oyster Project, talked bugs with NYC Parks Department park rangers, saved seeds with NYRP education staff, got their Inwood branch New York Public Library cards, connected to America’s native cultures with Nitchen, had their faces painted and portraits drawn, danced, hula-hooped and photo-boothed, and spent the afternoon enjoying the fall sunshine in a beautiful NYC park.
