Spring Picnic

Spring Picnic

NYRP’s Spring Picnic is the perfect way to celebrate our great city and to help us keep it clean and green! In addition to being an evening of fabulous entertainment and delicious fare, the event highlights our citywide community work while also raising necessary support for our green spaces and public programs.

On June 1, 2016, we will host this year's picnic at Morris-Jumel Mansion in Washington Heights. We are thrilled to honor two esteemed friends of NYRP: award-winning chef, restaurateur, and author Marcus Samuelsson, and Richard Gess of The Home Depot, a long-standing partner and supporter of our citywide community green spaces. This season we are excited to announce new collaborations with each that will allow our work to reach even more New Yorkers.

We're thrilled to announce that Sandra Bernhard will be our Mistress of Ceremonies! A critically acclaimed, stand-up comedian, Bernhard "continues to tour nationally and overseas with her new live show Feel the Bernhard, spotlighting her own unqiue, sharp blend of hysterical insight, and outspoken views, with the rock-n-roll, cabaret, stand-up and a little burlesque." You won't want to miss her!
Cocktails and dinner will be served in the elegant gardens of the Morris-Jumel Mansion, NYC’s oldest house located in northern Manhattan, which features beautiful gardens and a rich history. A Revolutionary War headquarters for George Washington and home of Aaron Burr, the mansion's luxiourious Georgian rooms more recently sheltered Lin-Manuel Miranda, who composed parts of the musical Hamilton there.
Celebrate the start of summer by sypporting NYRP's work in parks and community gardens throughout New York City. These special green places, including Morris-Jumel, are the sites of NYRP's summer arts and culture programs for families as well as year-round environmental education for school children.
