Become one of a growing number of cultivators, caretakers and champions of some of New York City’s most precious green plots by volunteering at a NYRP community garden. New York Restoration Project (NYRP) community garden volunteers come from many different neighborhoods and all walks of life – they are the driving force behind our organization’s efforts to sustain and promote the many environmental, social and economic benefits that our 52 gardens bring to communities throughout the five boroughs.

From growing your own vegetables to assisting with tree watering, composting and overall maintenance, there are many ways you can get involved in community gardens with NYRP. Community garden volunteers open our gardens for public use, as well as work with NYRP staff to help maintain and care for the space. Now serving thousands of garden users every season, NYRP continues to support a growing and diverse community of dedicated volunteers.

To learn how to become a community garden volunteer at a specific garden, e-mail info@nyrp.org with your name, contact info and the name of the NYRP garden you are interested in. Find a list of our gardens here.
