All NYRP community gardens hold a minimum of 20 open hours per week. Please check the bulletin board at the garden for times and details.
Established in 1994 by the primarily Hispanic residents of this bustling neighborhood in the South Bronx, Members’ Garden is busiest in spring and summer. Situated across the street from Melrose and Jackson Houses – two New York City Housing Authority developments – much of the garden’s annual harvest is distributed to the elderly and others in-need within the community. Since acquiring the garden, NYRP has installed an ornamental fence, added picnic benches and a gazebo, built a rainwater harvesting system, and planted perennials, shade trees, and shrubs.
