All NYRP community gardens hold a minimum of 20 open hours per week. Please check the bulletin board at the garden for times and details.
In 2001, NYRP joined with local community members to transform a neglected lot into a compact park, featuring a colorful playscape from KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to create play spaces within walking distance of every child in America. Beautiful ornamental plantings decorate the front and sides of the garden, tables are used for community picnics, and benches throughout provide restful seating for parents and elderly neighbors. Today, Creston primarily functions as a playground in an asthma-plagued neighborhood where the only other place to play is in the street.
