• Clay Avenue Community Garden

Founded in 1986 by the Claremont Homeowners Tenants Civic Improvement Association, this well-tended garden grows produce ranging from strawberries to callaloo, a vegetable native to the Caribbean. The garden features a beautiful peach tree along with rose bushes, daffodils, and tulips. NYRP improvements include the installation of a rainwater collection system along with raised vegetable beds and an herb garden. Community events held at Clay Avenue include gardening workshops, picnics, and block parties.

The garden serves three schools in the neighborhood by engaging students to learn about the outdoors.
