New York Restoration Project, with support from lululemon, is excited to welcome The Fit In: Bedford Stuyvesant back to Jane Bailey Memorial Garden to facilitate a new series of classes on Tuesday evenings all summer!
Come out for Power Up Pilates classes focusing on strengthening and stretching the core and stabilizer muscles. This will be just you and the mat. Great for any level of fitness, from those just starting since it is zero impact, to intense athletes as it targets muscles than can get overlooked and injured during large or high impact movement. Mats will be provided!
The Fit In is a studio created to serve the need for quality, accessible fitness training in Brooklyn’s historic Bedford Stuyvesant community. The Fit In provides a boutique fitness experience with workshops, pop-up classes, and events to further promote health & wellness in the community. This diverse community can receive training in a small-class environment from a diverse group of knowledgeable, supportive instructors. The Fit In is for anyone who walks in the door. Whether you are a beginner or expert, you fit in as you are.
Classes will take place in Jane Bailey Memorial Garden, a community garden in the New York Restoration Project’s citywide network of green spaces, including community gardens, public parks, and partner spaces. NYRP works with underserved communities to ensure that all New Yorkers can access the essential benefits of nature, regardless of income or ZIP code.
Check out our social feeds @NYRP for schedule updates and weather cancellations. All classes are 6:30 – 7:30 PM unless otherwise indicated.
UPDATE: All available spots have been reserved for this class, but walk-up participants are welcome to attend on a first-come, first-served basis until the garden is full. We typically have several spots available for anyone who missed the chance to register in advance.
Please check NYRP’s social media for the latest updates regarding outdoor event cancellations due to inclement weather and air quality.
