Request a Garden Plot at Riley-Levin Children’s Garden

Upcoming Events

Thank you for your interest in acquiring a plot in the Riley-Levin Children’s Garden at Swindler Cove. Applications for the 2017 growing season are currently closed.

The Riley Levin Children’s Garden in Sherman Creek Park has raised garden beds available for adoption in 2017. The garden includes a 3-bin compost system, rain water harvesting, and is surrounded by a small orchard and herb garden. The garden is part of Sherman Creek Park, a  natural landscape for learning that includes including wetlands, forest and access to the Harlem River. NYRP park staff and educators can be available to support your visits and garden projects. We think the garden is a great place to teach Children how to grow their own healthy food. To adopt a bed please tell us about yourself and your proposal for the garden on the application form, and keep in mind the following:

NYRP can provide  gardening tools, supplies, material, and guidance as needed. We reserve the right to maintain beds to maintain visual and educational standards. NYRP may alter the beds or offer them to another group at any time if minimum commitments or standards are not met.

    • 8am–4pm in the winter
  • Will be responsible for the planning, planting, harvest and maintenance of their garden bed
