Joining New York Restoration Project’s AmeriCorps team, supported by The Corps Network (TCN) and its Opportunity Youth Service Initiative (OYSI), is a way to put your idealism into action. New York Restoration Project believes that everyone deserves access to beautiful, high-quality public green space. We have worked in NYC for over 20 years as partners in underserved communities to transform public open space into functioning parks and gardens for community use. Join us for an informational interview and we can show you some of the wonderful projects our teams have been involved with, and find out if you qualify to join us.
Successful AmeriCorps participants will be assigned to Engagement and Programming Department, responsibilities will vary, from hosting and supporting a small gardening workshops, outreach activities, supporting, creating social media campaigns, and any other tasks that best serve the neighborhoods we work in.
We look for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn; training will be provided. All AmeriCorps members must be available to work a full-time schedule— 5 days a week, 8 hours a day with the flexibility to work one weekend day. Candidates must be excited to work both outdoors and in an office setting, becoming familiar with different New York City Neighborhoods.
- Earn a living stipend of $1,600 per month
- Earn an education award of $4,114 to help pay for college, graduate school, vocational school or to repay student loans
