Every Day is an Arbor Day Activity Guide

The Every Day is an Arbor Day Activity Guide is a how-to, step-by-step workbook essential for any teacher who is interested in incorporating the concepts of tree planting and stewardship into their elementary or junior high school classroom. Program elements focus on introducing students to the concept that they live amidst an urban forest by having them map the location of trees in their neighborhood and involving them in tree-planting and stewardship activities.

This New York City-centric educator activity guide introduces the MillionTreesNYC initiative to city classrooms and includes applied teaching concepts for lessons in math, environmental science, resource conservation and stewardship, and other arbor-related subjects.

The Every Day is an Arbor Day Activity Guide is available to educators citywide and includes a listing of additional available environmental resources. Guide activities also meet New York State Department of Education Learning Standards for Science Education, grades Kindergarten through eighth.
