Tree Care and maintenance

Once trees are planted, New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is actively involved in engaging a citywide network of local caretakers, community gardeners and neighborhood residents to assist in watering, mulching, pruning and protecting New York’s newest green additions.

Working directly with its MillionTreesNYC partners under the MillionTreesNYC Stewardship Corps, NYRP has helped develop and lead tree care education programs and curricula – such as a TreeLC Handbook and community workshops. These free programs and materials are offered to homeowners, schools and other public-accessible land owners – ensuring that with proper care and attention, the new trees we plant throughout the city will survive difficult urban elements, grow strong and large and benefit New Yorkers for generations to come!
