In spring, summer and fall of 2012, NYRP presented a series of workshops covering a variety of topics on gardening techniques, environmental trends, healthy living, and dynamic arts and cultural programming in several of our beautiful community gardens. At each interactive workshop, NYRP staff was joined by knowledgeable experts that shared the most up-to-date eco-knowledge and provided community members with a unique opportunity to dig in!
Admission to all NYRP programs are FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. All are welcome!

TreeLC Workshops provide hands-on experience to teach how to care for trees in your garden and neighborhood. One million new trees are finding their homes in New York City through the MillionTreesNYC Initiative.

Cluck, cluck, cluck - chickens have many uses, especially in New York City! Come learn in these interactive workshops about the benefits of raising chickens in an urban setting. We have workshops that are suitable for all levels of experience.

NYRP’s free, outdoor yoga classes are a great way for the entire family to stay fit. On Saturdays in April through September, these hour-long sessions, led by certified yoga teachers, will educate participants about proper form, tempo and mindset needed for a fulfilling and exciting workout. Mats will be provided for temporary use.

NYRP gardens become a stage for the story of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” presented in collaboration with Snorks and Piñs Theater Company. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and find yourself in the enchanted world of William Shakespeare during this 90 minute, family-friendly production.

The 4th Annual Domino Tournament between NYRP’s El Cataño and Willis Avenue Community Gardens is sure to be exciting! Can Willis Avenue defend the championship? Will El Cataño reclaim the title?
